Neighborhood Planning Meeting - November 19th

Time: 6:30pm – 9:00pm
Location: - LCRA Red Bud Facility
Agenda - At this meeting, stakeholders will be deciding on options for 35th St east of MoPac and between 38th St and Lamar.

Background. The City’s neighborhood planning process con¬tinues as a series of town hall type meetings where folks who live, work or own property in the planning area –- and some who do not -- meet to discuss future land use in West Austin. The City’s goal is to create a City Council approved plan, the central feature of which will be a land use map for a large West Austin area that includes Bryker Woods. Our goal is to make sure that the plan as a whole and the land use map in particular protect Bryker Woods so that it remains a great place to live.

Current Status. So far, the land use discussion has largely focused on land use west of MoPac. Beginning NOW, the discussion will cross MoPac and deal with land use on property on our side, including property on the south side of West 35th Street and the blocks between 34th Street and 35th Street near Bryker Woods Elementary School. BWNA Annual Meeting Saturday November 15th (9:30am)

The Bryker Woods Neighborhood Association’s annual meeting will occur on Saturday November 15th at the Bryker Woods Elementary School beginning at 9:30am. Come learn about the the various issues threatening our neighborhood quality of life such as inappropriate redevelopment and increasing cut-through traffic. Focus of this meeting will be discussion of the Central West Austin Neighborhood Plan of which the Bryker Woods neighborhood is a part. City Council Member Laura Morrison will be the guest speaker and she will share details to the importance to the neighborhood planning initiative currently underway. Refreshment will be provide at the meeting. So drop by Saturday morning, have a cup of coffee, visit with some neighbors and learn more of the issues challenging the BrykerWoods neighborhood!
