Bryker Woods Neighborhood is organizing a neighborhood watch group, the BWNA Safety Net, and we’d like your help.
The two most important factors in reducing neighborhood crime are being aware of your surroundings and being in communication with your neighbors. And it isn't hard to do.
A neighborhood watch helps neighbors get to know each other, get a sense for what’s unusual, and look out for the people and properties on their block. This makes it easier to recognize a problem and alert the police. Bryker Woods has a neighborhood email list, a great way to keep you in touch with your neighbors and to be aware of what is happening in the neighborhood.
The easiest and most important step to participate in the BWNA Safety Net is to join the neighborhood email list. If you are not already on the list, just send an email message to
BrykerWoods-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Also not everyone reads the newsletter or has email, so please talk with your neighbors and let them know about the Safety Net!
And if you would like to volunteer, you could pass out flyers, go door to door on your block, or serve as a block captain. We welcome your participation!
The map to the left represents neighborhood sectors for which block captains are sought. Click on map below for larger image.
If you are interested in serving as a block captain or if you have any questions, you can contact Derick Miller, the Safety Net Coordinator at the email address below:
